She is studying other languages because of the incoming chance of war or otherwise (to be a translator)-- Birthday August 9th; addresses other Guardians by last name.

Background: Born to a working-class family, her parents believed that her beauty was blessed by Freya. She was the only one in her family born with violet eyes and silver hair that when Ciera was born, they believed she must have been blind or had carried other ailments. Normally, hair would be white and not silver, and violet eyes were extremely rare. Regardless of such, after her baptization, they heard the she was eligible to become a Star Gladiator. They took this as a sign from Freya. Her family hoped that the ailments were not true, and devoted years toward Freya, hoping that she would either be healed or it was proven wrong. It was soon proved that she was not born with such ailments: Ciera became quite adept at many things--from writing, reading, singing, athletic abilities and so on--even at such a young age. Her family believed that Freya must have blessed them so that Ciera could make her family honored by becoming a Star Gladiator. Believing such, they were more than willing to give Ciera to the church for training when she turned 5. They prayed daily to Freya hoping that she would protect their daughter, the silver-haired, violet-eyed, guardian-to-be.

The young guardians were told that they could not enter a certain area. This was because the Soul Linkers trained there, but none of them knew such information. They just knew it was forbidden.

An acquaintance of Ciera from her own training wanted to find what was in that forbidden area. Ciera thought against it, saying that it was forbidden for a reason, but found herself being dragged there anyway. She looked up over the wall as best she could and her acquaintance the same.

Ciera saw nothing. There was nothing there. Thinking to herself how odd it was that they would hold such a place forbidden, she decided that she would just leave and not think more about it. They must have had her reason.

"Look there," her acquaintance said. "There's someone there."

"I rather not," she replied. But curiousity became stronger and she took a better peek past the wall.

There she saw one of the most beautiful people she has ever seen in her entire life. Such a person must have been blessed entirely by Freya.

She assumed it was an oracle, but unknown to her knowledge, that person was not. At least, not at the time. Ciera assumed that oracle must have already had guardians, so she would be a guardian to another oracle. Surely they all must have been that beautiful. They were gifts of Freya.

Inspired, she prayed to Freya that night, hoping that if she were to be a guardian, to become one to someone like the girl she saw...

That girl was Branwen. When Branwen became an actual oracle, Ciera found herself chosen. Not knowing that it was Branwen herself walking past her, they had a conversation.

Branwen congratulated Ciera, and asked Ciera what kind of guardian she would like. Ciera answered Sun, even though she knew that she couldn't choose which position she wanted herself. Her reason was that she would sacrifice the damage to her oracle upon herself. Branwen asked if Ciera would not get such a position, would she become a guardian anyway. Ciera found herself reply that if she were to guard someone like Branwen (believing she is an oracle with guardians already), she would not complain about her alignment. Branwen seemed pleased.

Slightly nervous, Ciera found that she were to meet her oracle the next day. When that came, she realized the woman she spoke to was her oracle. And her name was Branwen. Forgetting the exact look of the girl she saw during her days of training, she vowed to protect Branwen as her guardian and was assigned the Moon Guardian. Ciera only remembered that the girl she saw was what inspired her to become as perfect as she could be at her job.
